Ribbon Pakoda / Nada pakoda

Blogger marathon #4 , Day 4....Happy tamil new year...Putthandu Nal Vazhthukkal.
Ribbon pakodas is a un resistible snack. Instead of  buying it outside from sweet stalls, why can't we  make it at home ourself. This pakodas is favorite for kids too…my mom used to prepare this often when I was with them in Chennai. My daughter used to have this when she comes back from school. And ribbon pakodas can be one of the side dishes also for the meals. I used to have it with rasam sadam, sambar sadam also.even u can try it out with the  meals . After coming and staying here alone I got a special interest in making such savories and store it. Here is my favorite snack for u all…..naruk morruk snack.....

Ingredients
Besan flour / Kadalai Mavvu  1 cup
Butter 3 tbsp
Salt to taste
Red chili powder 2tsp
Asafetida ½ tsp
Water to make a soft dough
Oil for deep frying
Method
Take a wide mouth bowl, Mix besan, salt , red chili powder, asafortida with butter. Crumble it nicely with the fingers. Then add water little by little and prepare a soft dough.
Heat oil in a pan, when oil is heat enough, put little dough in the press . Make ribbons in hot oil. When the hiss sound stops, strain well and remove the ribbons from the oil. This is a very good snack which can be served any time….with tea or we can have it just like that also….
