Vendaikkai Masiyal is a simple dish. This is my favorite , my mom prepare this masiyal when ever i go . Best combination with steamed rice and potato fry. I make this often here and this is a favorite dish for my daughter too. This will not taste like sambar, but this will looks like sambar. Here i have used toor dhal, we can use moong dhal also instead of toor dhal.
Fenugreek changes its taste and this will be aromatic, I can call this masiyal as an authentic recipe. When it is prepared in Kal Satti it tastes awesome. My mom prepare all the kuzhambu varieties in Kal Satti. That gives a different taste and aroma. Simple recipe at home for a change, try it out instead of sambar and Here we go in to the recipe.
